***Technology Update - Additional Information about the Heartbleed Bug and GW NetID Passwords 4/15/2014***

This message is a follow-up to the previous message about the recently discovered Heartbleed security vulnerability. The Division of Information Technology (IT) strongly encourages you to change your NetID password. Your NetID password is the password used to login to your GW email. If you need assistance changing your password, please contact the IT Support Center though our website or by calling 4-GWIT (4948). Technology assistance is available through the IT Support Center 24 hours a day.

Please note that when you change your password, you will also need to update the password change in mobile devices and email clients, such as Microsoft Outlook.

GW Account Central

The GW Account Center provides information on requesting access to or termination of GW account based systems and services.


Use your GWID to access multiple resources including student transcripts, the University Time and Reporting System; faculty and staff benefit selection, and much more.

GWID Pin Reset

If you have forgotten the PIN associated with your GWID you can reset it yourself here using the "Forgot PIN?" button.


Faculty, staff and student NetIDs will be the username used to login to various GW systems (e-mail, GW portal, and Blackboard). Once assigned, your NetID may not be changed.
